Hi Luke & Carrie,

I've been enjoying Bad Rapport. A couple of comments...

I too watched "Puttin' on the Hits"... yikes, I was entertained by pretty much anything back then...

Not many of the show's lip sync acts stand out in my memory... but I do recall a guy who did "Say Say Say." As he sang the Paul McCartney lines, he stood so you could only see his left side. Then for the Michael Jackson part, suddenly he spun around, to reveal that his right side was dressed like Michael Jackson -- complete with face paint! It was like half a minstrel show.

My high school had its own annual lip sync contest, and a couple of kids perfectly replicated the Paul Simon/Chevy Chase "You Can Call Me Al" video. Later they auditioned to appear on "Puttin' on the Hits" with this act. But alas, apparently they didn't make the cut...

By the way, I went to a Patton Oswalt show in Boston last week. When it was time to work the crowd, everyone Patton talked to was quite boring. Patton even admitted, "In working the crowd tonight, I'm 0-for-3!" He still made it funny, but was clearly having a tough time since the crowd gave him so little to work with. I'm sure he really appreciated your contribution to the Chicago show.

If Patton had called on me, I was planning to tell him I was a caricature artist named Luke. But we were way in the back, so that didn't happen...

Have fun at MarsCon -- wish I could see you there...

Thundarr was a great cartoon series...equal parts rip-off of Planet of the Apes, Star Wars, and Conan. Created by the greatest comic book artist who ever lived, Jack Kirby...who created (or "co-created") almost every major Marvel character of the 1960s.

great show, but not enough burping. I mentioned on my phone post Kingdom Hearts a game on the playstation 2, GBA, and DS with one for the psp soon. I asked which cartoons you'd like to see in them use as worlds for the game. whether its tv( IE gargoyles, Darkwing Duck, Bonkers, etc.) or movies ( Phantasia, Princess and the frog, toy story, etc.) the series has been out since '01 also see if you remember this HB series from the 80's: Thundarr the Barbarian. little side note HB made, but not HB cartoon Tom and Jerry. the intro for the old cartoons list the creators as Joseph Hanna and Fred Barberra (sp.?)

Luke I remember the show FTV in the mid 80's. There was this one character that was a parody of Tina Turner called Tina Turn-on. As for Putting on the Hits that was the show that introduced the world to Sinbad because he used to be a Judge on that show. I also remember a guy named Houston that would be one half Lionel Richie and one half Diana Ross.
