Video Episode #001

“Blasted Bill and Moonbeam’s Pod Of Destiny” did their first video PodCast earlier this year. It featured a time plot, a green screen, and a tiny net. Here are links to watch it on YouTube: Part 1, Part 2, Part 3 (Each part is 10 minutes long, so if you’re pressed for time, just watch Part 3, that’s the most important part).  It ended with a gauntlet thrown in the faces of Luke Ski and Carrie Dahlby to create a video PodCast that would top theirs. So Carrie and I are brought the fight to their turf, and world premiered the first ever video installment of our PodCast “Luke & Carrie’s Bad Rapport” at PenguiCon in Detroit on May 1st, 2010.

Due to how YouTube works, we had to keep the episode to under 10 minutes, so we managed to do an encapsulated version of our PodCast complete with four comedy music tracks, News of The Stupid, and many of the regular segments you tolerate so much. If you enjoy it, please tell your friends about it on line by sharing the YouTube link and/or the link to Bad Rapport .com, and also please leave comments for us here letting you know what you thought of the show. If there is enough demand, we will do more in the future. Thanks for reading, and we hope you love it!

  1. This was one of my favorite parts of this past weekend. I would love to know who made the puppets.

  2. Why is it no matter how old I get, and how bitter and cynical I become, I still love sock puppets? I’m 28 fer cryin’ out loud!

  3. I must say I thoroughly enjoyed this, first not really seeing it via Dr. Don’s ustream and then on this website. As a formerly professional puppeteer, I must say that Luke is a pretty good puppeteer while most of Carrie and Ken can work on their puppeting style, but it adds to the homemade charm of it all 🙂 I won’t deduct points for flipped tops and bad lip sync.
I want a Medemia puppet now. That would be cool! I could definitely use that in a show.

  4. Great video. Thank you for having me in it.

  5. Hey guys!
Really liked the video! Just a tip for you- I’m a puppeteer and one thing that makes me skin crawl is improper lip sync. When a person talks they don’t move their whole head, only their jaw.
You can deliver a more realistic performance with your puppets if you only move your thumb, and not the other four fingers. (Therefore only moving the puppet’s “jaw.”)

It takes practice but makes everything look a lot nicer.

    Just a tip!

I also have a quick question-
I was looking around Luke’s website (I guess all the plugging worked) and I saw how advanced your store was. It is a custom engine or what?
Thanks, I’ve just been looking for a new store engine or software for my site.

Can’t wait for the next show!

  6. Great episode. I love how even puppet carrie has to look at her shirt to see what shade of pink she is wearing. Well done and very cute!
