Welcome to our 2010 Christmas episode that is so big, we split it into 2 parts. In it, we do a complete dramatic performance of Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol”. Starring: the great Luke Ski as Scrooge, who spends the whole time being an old media curmudgeon saying ‘Bah Humbug’ to kids who arenโt willing to pay for things that are high quality and have great value because they’re all a bunch of iGeneration hipster douchenozzles; Carrie Dahlby as the spirit of Jacob Marley, who scares Scrooge into helping her move out of her apartment; special guest host Insane Ian as Bob Cratchit, who Scrooge begrudgingly lets take the day off from his job getting berated by cell phone customers who want him to replace broken cell phones that may or may not exist; with music from Flat 29 as the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future who convince Scrooge to go to the Flat 29 Spreadshirt Site and get some fine quality new Flat 29 T-shirts featuring art by Luke Ski. There’s also music from “Dr. Horrible’s Sing Along Blog”, “Emmet Otter’s Jug Band Christmas”, Buster Poindexter, and the newest holiday FuMP tracks from Luke and Ian. God bless us, everyone!

your news of the stupid robber on a lawn mower reminded me of this story. My family was driving way up in the northern part of Michigan in what you might call the sticks. we drove through the middle of a very small town just around dusk and saw a large dance with young folks dressed in tuxes and gowns like it was prom. 2 miles down the road we saw a kid in a tux driving a lawn mower towards the dance.
This has been Bill and i’m not in your song.
Some podcasting advice. Never break up your episode into multiple parts and release them on the same day. Many people, myself included, have their podcatching programs set to only download the latest episode of a show. I was already on my way to work when I realized I had episode 30 part 2 on my iPod, but not part 1. It doesn’t matter how long the shows are. The Awful Show used to routinely push 4 hours every show. Just release it.
Your link to the Flat 29 store doesn’t work. It should point to http://flat29.spreadshirt.com/.
Just to say I love the picture for this episode – it’s amazing.
Also, thanks to Jared for correcting the merchandise mistake – good work.
Just so I don’t end up having only a shameless plug read on the air, let me add another comment re: yhe dirty lyrics conversation Luke and Ian were having. I was going to call this in, but I was at a super windy and loud bus stop when I thought of it, then I forgot until just now. Anyway, I totally agree w/ Luke about how some of the best “naughty” songs don’t actually have any of the words you can’t say on television but are implied. However, there is one song that manages to be brilliant while being filled to the brim with four letter words and graphic descriptions.
You know all those R&B songs where the singer is usind dance terminology but is pretty obviously singing about sex? Well there is this great song by rapper Princess Superstar that inverts that. It’s a genius song called Fuck Me on the Dance Floor, where graphic sexual terminology is used as a metaphor for dancing.
P.S. Am I the only one who thinks the censored version of Sandler’s Ode to my Car is actually funnier than the album version?
