This episode has special guests “Blasted Bill” Putt, Ken “Madman” Sherlock, and Josh “Country Bear Jamboree” Rasey. We recap GenCon Indy 2011, improvise a new Randy Newman classic, and wrap up our TransFormers coverage from Episode #44. There’s also News of the Stupid and music by the great Luke Ski featuring Dan of Flat 29, Cirque du So What featuring Carrie Dahlby, and Tony Bacala featuring the Malachi Brothers. While this episode does not feature Sara, it does feature a pic of her with me on fire. Always a crowd-pleaser. Speaking of crowd-pleasers, mynew album “BE AMUSED BY ME” was just released on MP3 and CD format, so buy a copy today, dammit!

Nice to see Bad Rapport back on the, um, nets. Be Amused By Me is excellent, my new favorite Luke Ski album.
The News of the Stupid about the women who drove into the swamp, are you sure that was Bellevue Oregon and not Bellevue Washington? There’s a lot about the story that made me think of WA and a couple that make me think it’s unlikely to be OR. Sorry, this is me getting hung up on irrelevant details.
As far as your trying to figure out who I am, my name’s Theresa in real life. Carrie met me at Marscon this year. I’m just an anonymous fan who isn’t quite as anonymous now that I make comments on your podcast if I can think of anything to say.
Wow. Way to call me out on my opinion on TF3. Look, I didn’t expect “King Lear”, nor was I expecting it to be the worst thing I ever saw. I actually had hopes it would exceed both of the previous Transformers films. However, I can’t ignore that the plotting was ridiculously uneven, the acting serviceable at best, and the level of violence and destruction passed the point of being an entertaining distraction and entered the realm of disturbing… for me. I was actually appalled that Optimus Prime essentially executed his foes because I don’t think he would do that, but honestly, I’m criticizing the characterization of a cartoon robot.
I didn’t like the movie at all; you guys did. Both opinions are valid. Don;t be mad at me because I didn’t like a thing you liked.
P.S. I’ve paid for 3D films. I don’t like it, and plan to avoid it whenever possible. Also, it’s more helpful to criticize our review of Transformers by commenting on the actual review instead of squirreling away your commentary on your show. While I listen to your show, I can’t say if Shane does.
P.P.S. You know what? I’m not terribly happy to be yelled at by you guys on your show. It makes me not want to listen anymore. Thin skinned? Perhaps. Just being honest.
P.P.P.S. We can’t always control what we review. We got preview passes to a couple movies that we didn’t like. But if you look at our review history, we like things far more often than we dislike them.
P.P.P.P.S. I’m listening right now.
P.P.P.P.P.S. This comment was composed in real time as I listened to the section relevant to me.
<— Is not a jerk
the only reason I left so many posts for ep 44 was because you asked. post 1 was as I listened, post 2 because you wanted to know if you missed any series, post 3 was a basic history of beast wars and reason behind beast forms, post 4 was relating to you saying why they didn’t make arcee or quintesson figures. grats on the next gen fump artist carrie, and lukke, hope you remember not to say that about god while podcasting. later all.
I guess that I got the song name wrong in my comment, oops. That Randy Newman song has to be a bonus track somewhere!! And did I hear a clue to the second part of Stupid Cowboy Thing at the very end of the podcast??
Hey I don’t often comment because I don’t have anything to say but I do submit news articles and have not missed a podcast but I don’t listen to any other podcasts.
HI Luke and Carrie –
This is Julie. I just listened to this podcast and enjoyed it a lot. I picked up the podcast CD at GenCon and LMAO so I decided to give the podcast a try. This is only maybe the second podcast I have ever listened to in my life. I liked hearing about what you guys did at GenCon, but Luke you need to mention that you did the intermission show at the Costume Contest. I’m sorry I missed your Saturday night concert but I get really tired after doing the costume contest all day. I don’t know how you do it, working your booth all day, singing a mini-concert at the costume contest, and then doing your full concert at 9 pm. You are amazing!
By the way, congrats to Carrie on the baby, very great news!
Back to this podcast. I want to say that I really enjoyed Carrie doing the “Staying Fat” skit, you hit the tone of it just right. And I also liked the stats on grammar you recited. As an English teacher, I found that amusing.
Will definitely check out future podcasts. You guys really make me laugh, you are a great team. Now if only I can figure out how to get these onto my DROID (btw, more DROID sounds on the podcast would rock).
