That look of surprise on Captain Kirk’s face will be the same one you have when you learn that this episode is under 90 minutes long! See? I told you. The first 30 minutes of this episode has Alex in it, so if you’re not interested in his ever rapidly developing vocabulary, then you might want to skip it. Carrie tells us about their trip to Arizona, Josh has an ignorance story involving a cable company customer service rep, and Luke tells us how he broke his record for sneaking snacks into the cinema.
Later, Kyle joins Luke to hear him recap MarCon. We also play comedy music by The FuMP, Ookla The Mok, The Arrogant Worms, Jim Carrey, and some classic Dr. Demento era tunes by Doodles Weaver, Mark McCollum, Ivor Cutler, and Billy & The Boingers to help promote the “Under The Smogberry Trees” Kickstarter to produce a feature length documentary film about Dr. Demento! There’s a lot of great prizes for donating, so if you have the extra cash, please donate today!

It never rains on planet Alex.
Thanks, Luke, for the shout-out to the spreadsheet monkeys. The new “Year Released” field has actually led to some fascinating research. For instance, I always loved Doodles Weaver on my Spike Jones CDs, but I didn’t realize that he had released new material in the 70s, or that he had such a prolific movie career… or that he was Sigourney Weaver’s uncle. I found all sorts of information while trying to trace down the release date of this episode’s “Eleanor Rigby” and that’s just one song.
Knowledge!
