Episode #021 – Dizziness Development

At the request of Royal Carrie (see pic left) we hit the holiday road and recorded this episode at Six Flags (formerly Marriott’s) Great America in Gurnee, IL, coincidentally located right across the street from one of Luke’s main caricature stand drawing spots.

Between rides we give a 44 minute report on GenCon Indy (see Wil Wheaton photobomb left), Luke spies on his caricature competition and what he finds shocks, amuses, and befuddles him, and we do a quick review of Insane Ian‘s new album “The Last Arcade”.

We also have music by The Guild, Run DMC, some classic Great America park theme songs, and the epic musical conclusion of our pan-Atlantic podcast love-fest with Flat 29.

If that’s not enough, we’ve turned this week’s News of the Stupid into a game! So ‘game on’, and be sure to visit Six Flags Great America, the place to go when your family can’t afford to go to Disney World that year!

  1. Folks need to check out the larger version of the bottom photo on Facebook or what have you. Sara’s comment was priceless: “You look like William Shatner after he’d been punched in the face.”

  2. Luke, the Episodes on the Saturday morning cartoons 1980’s are the premere episodes of the following:
Goldie Gold & Action Jack, Chuck Norris: Karate Commandos, The Flintstone Kids, Mr. T, The Biskitts, Galtar and the Golden Lance, Thundarr the Barbarian, the Kwickky Koala Show, the Completely Mental Misadventures of Ed Grimley, and Dragon’s Lair. how is any of that deemed offensive to children? also, check the podcast, the phone message was forgotten, but I dinna care. great show as always and catch the current Nerdist. there’s a soundbite from the voice of spongbob that’d make a great ringtone… him going “go ahead and workit. workit motherfuckers.” as spongebob. also beware: the mighty avengers gets a new cartoon fall 2010 on disney XD.

  3. According to the Damsels’ Facebook page, the dice head people gave them their D4 hats on Sunday. My trip from Gencon to Skyline is on my site.

As stated, Disneyworld only offers the paid passes as a VIP deal with staying at their resort and is not available to the general public. Universal Studios Orlando does have the same paid passes as Great America.

  4. Thanks for the quick review guys! I really appreciate it, and I’m glad you’re enjoying the CD!

Now you can stop pulgging my stuff for at least a month…until my next new song comes out.

Also, Carrie…hate to tell ya this…but just about EVERY song on my CD has a form of pitch correction on it. It’s technically not Autotune, but it does the same thing. The fact that you didn’t notice it means it’s doing it right. ^_^

    Thanks again guys!

  5. Just for the record Wikipedia says Shock Treatment takes place in Denton, TX.

Another awesome show. Loved the live interaction with the “lousy” advertisements at Six Flags. They charge all that $, and more $ for the Speedy Pass (or whatever it’s called), and still have commercials.

Keep up the fun of the only Podcast I listen to.

  6. I can totally empathize with the crap rate you get for the drawings. The system is called usually draw commission. My husband was under this system for his first few jobs doing electronics sales. They sucked.

Truly the problem with this was the more you worked the more draw you had to pay back. So part time workers had less to pay back.

    Good show guys.

  7. Also,

According to every official RHPS and ST document I could get my hands on, the Denton referred to in both films is not supposed to be EITHER TX or OH…it is just “Denton USA”. No state given, or inferred, just supposed to an all-American town.

  8. In a non-Rocky Horror-related comment (though I totally love RHPS) I just listened to this ep at work and I could almost pretend I was at the amusement park instead of being at work. So that was cool. In fact, it was the coolest thing today, which just proves how totally pathetic my life actually is.
