In this episode, Luke & Carrie go to Golf Mill Mall in Niles, Illinois, just because Carrie wanted to be somewhere that wasn’t the inside of a house. We get caught up on 3 episodes worth of comments, Carrie fills us in on the new proto-words in Alex’s vocabulary, and in a last bit of MarsCon 2013 wrap-up, Luke shows Carrie some of the ‘Boob Tree’ game cards from this year (go to the comments to get links to the images, and tips on green screening). We also reminisce about old commercial jingles & campaigns of the early to mid 80’s, and do the first (albeit sloppy, unprepared, distracted, and somewhat out of breath) installment of a new segment called “Silver Lining Reviews”, where Luke talks about “The Incredible Burt Wonderstone“, and Carrie talks about her new favorite video game app. We also have funny songs by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis featuring Wanz, Ricky Gervais & Dom Johnson, The Nick Atoms, Katherine McPhee & Christian Borle, Animaniacs, & Jimmy Fallon & Justin Timberlake. In the end the big question is, ‘is Luke Ski famous enough in the eyes of Mad Magazine?’ The answer, ‘probably not’.

Fun fact: That Adventure Time Mad Magazine cover was drawn by Chris Houghton. Chris does most of the covers for the actual Adventure Time comic book including this one where he snuck in an appearance by Frog Raccoon Strawberry! http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-2Ukqy2uQXms/Tyi-V34lDfI/AAAAAAAASOk/JmhQ2cHqpSU/s1600/tumblr_lyoz96XOfX1r7wz6no1_500.jpg
Chris and I were co-workers at Fanboy and Chum Chum. 🙂

Once again I finished listening to a LCBR episode after the following one was posted. I wanted to listen to all the post-Marscon podcasts first before the ummm… post post-Marscon ones.
I appreciate the links to the Boob Tree cards. They are much better seen than described. I was unaware how talented Kobi is in drawing. I was planning on playing one session but my duties as a father came first as my daughter had a male friend her age on Saturday night and I needed to keep one eye on them and I do appreciate the ones who were watching her at the dance since I know most boys her age do not find girls a waste of time like I did.
I also remember Herb from the Burger King promotion and I did call the 900 number once. The end of the promotion had Herb visiting one restaurant in every state and the first person to ask him if he was Herb won a grand prize. I called the number since he was giving clues to which states he was visiting in a week’s time.
My father also refused to allow McDonald’s hamburgers in the house. I asked my mom if she knew why and she beleved a bad reaction to one hambuger a long time ago caused it.
I feel bad about how my reply to the Marscon episode made Luke react as he read it alone late at night. When I reply, I do so believing both Luke and Carrie will read it but the timing of my reply did not allow that. I probably should have stated it was the same person who from being bored stopped watching The Empire Strikes Back after a half hour.
